Providence Boys Basketball

Welcome to Providence Boys Basketball Season 2010. I would like to thank you for your support in the 2009 Season, and we are looking forward to an even better year in 2010. In preparation for the new season I would like to inform you of some critical dates.

Basketball Camps:

Sign Ups:

Basketball Registration on Saturday October 31st, 2009 12:00pm - 4:00pm at Providence Elementary School.

We will start sign ups during football practices 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. staring the week of October 12th. We will have tables set up during our home coming game October 16, 2009, which would include sign-ups, and fee collection that night. We will also have sign ups at Providence Elementary at designated times on weekends. Please stay tuned for the times, as it will be indicated on signs, newletters, and/or via the website.

or find me during the Evaluation Night. I encourage all of our parents to get involved. If there is anyone who is interested in coaching girls basketball team, please contact me. I would love to have a girls team this year. If you have never coached before we will have coaching clinics to assist you. I will lists the coaching clinics, and the mandatory coaches meeting for Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation once the dates are established in our meeting with Parks and Recreation on November 1st. Coaching clinics will be prvided again this year by the coaching staff at Meadowbrook High School. First year coaches are required to attend the coaches clinics no exceptions. All coaches have to do a background check, and display your approved Chesterfield County Parks and recreation card at all times. If you do not display this card you will not be allowed to coach without it no exceptions. You can obtain the document to get your background check on the CBL website, and go to any chesterfield police station to get your background check. I would recommend the substation in Chesterfield Mall.

Practice Schedule:

The times for practice will be as follows for the following weeks of November 16th, November 30th, December 7th, and December 14th.

There will be a break for Thanksgiving the week of November 23rd. There will be a break for the Christmas Holiday December 21st-January 1st. We will receive a new schedule from the CBL on January 4th. We will use the existing schedule as advised by the CBL the week of the 4th until we are given the new updates for all groups. We will receive schedules, along with game schedules.

(We will have open gym on Tuesday night for Intermediate and Juniors for the next few weeks to help establish A and B teams for these groups with the respective times listed also.)

Practice Dates: Nov 17, Nov 19, Dec 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, and 17th.

Documentation:

We will need all birth certificates, waivers, parent agreements, athlete agreements, payment, etc. by November 19th. I need to collect payment by November 19th as PAA has to pay the county before the season starts for each team. If you played last we may have a copy of your birth certificate, but please be prepared just in case we dont. Please try to attend all dates, and or coordinate with your respective coaches. I will be available if you have any questions as well. (Final payments are due prior to uniform issuance.)

Fees:

We will have an early bird sign up discount, along with a mutiple child discount if signed up by November 17th. Fees and discounts are as follows:

• $125 All age groups
• $40 Uniform Check Deposit (only to be cashed at the end of season should uniform not be returned)
• $10 Membership Fee to be paid Annuall--if not already a member
• $15 Early sign up discount if paid in full by November 17th
• $15 Mutiple child discount for 2nd cild in family/household
